The Team....A Group put Together by God.

I have to say that the Romanian Team was an epically amazing team that became a family. We were a crazy family at that singing songs together, laughing, praying and crying together. We became a tight knit family of sisters and brothers in Christ. They have become a special part of my life and I look back with a bright smile at the memories that I cherish of the times that we spent together.

Skits were definitely a great memory as we began to see each other come out of our shells and pour ourselves into the personality that we were suppose to represent. Truth be, at the end of the trip we had some pretty epic skits going on. It's brings laughter to my heart as I think about it now.

The Bucky Skit: Bad Bucky, Good Bucky and nerdy Agnus.
The Dragon Story: The brave king, The scared queen, and the curious princess.
The Story of Gideon and His Men.
The Mighty Midianites

Gideon's Soldiers

Beyond Words....

Potiphar's Wife in the Joseph skit.

Running from the evil queen!

Competing to enter the King's Army.

What a time that we had! I would like to say to ya'll to never be afraid to use the talents that God has given you...He gave it to you for a purpose and He wants you to go out and find out what He can do with it. =)
Thanks for coming on this reminiscent journey with me. I loved every minute of getting to share this experience with ya'll.

Europe Met the Crazy Americans...Part 3

Over the weekend we headed out to do some sight seeing throughout Romania. We traveled to the Transylvania mountains where we saw Dracula's castle, the city of Sibiu, and Peles and a few other castles (the names have slipped my mind). The sights up in the mountains were breathtaking and so very hard to describe. In Sibiu we were able to see part of  Romanian wedding party, we saw the ancient ruins of another castle high in the mountains and the castle of Peles that has ever inch decorated. It was a great bonding  time in the van ride as we sang and laughed. Amanda and I sat in the front seat and had the greatest time as seat buddies.

The second week we worked in two different villages The first time we pulled into the first village there was a large group of kids waiting and so we hit the ground running. In the second village, the church there welcomed us with open arms and served us lunch for the week. They are amazing cooks let me tell you! Their servants heart greatly encouraged me that week. During this week we saw God working in the lives of the adults and kids that came and we felt the the spiritual warfare that was on going as well. It was amazing to see God working in not only their lives but also in the teams lives.

It was great meeting and getting to know our interpreters for the week and having dinners with an amazing, Christan family. A highlight of the week was when we got rained out of the first village but decided to go to the village and see the kids and ended up outside a Christian woman's house where we sang some songs and prayed together. I'll always remember that moment in a special place in my heart.

The last week holds a special place in my heart as we headed out to work as the camp directors/coordinators at a Christian camp. It was an intense week where we had one day were it started to downpour and so we had to be flexible and to adapt our crafts and games to different locations. A highlight of my week there was getting to know the kids more and more as the week went on, not only getting to know their names but also about their lives. All to soon the days were drawing to close and our time in Romania was about to be over. It was one of the hardest goodbyes that I have ever had to say when the last day of camp arrived.

God allowed our last evening in Romania to be a blessing by allowing us to meet a missionary family from Alabama who invited us to come over for a 4th of July celebration before we embarked on our trip back to Budapest for our flight home.

I don't think that Amanda and I had any sleep on the van ride back....maybe an hour. But we had had about a couple cups of Dark Berry Mountain Dew (an amazing flavor of mountain dew) so we were slightly hyper. We arrived at the Budapest airport at 4:00 in the morning and waited for the place to open. I thought that we all looked like people on the amazing race with all our luggage.

A Five Hour Layover in Rome!

Back in the USA

On the flight home I went back in my mind reviewing the time that I had spent in Romania and thanking god for the wonderful opportunity that He had brought into my life. I thought about the lessons that I had learned and the people that I had met and I couldn't have been a more blessed person then in that moment.
