Thankful #8...
Laughter!
A merry heart doeth good [like] a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the
bones.

Thankful #7....
Freedom!
I am so very thankful for the freedoms that this country still has. I could vote on Tuesday without fear of death, my voice could still be heard.....even though at times like the election it did not feel like it. I have the freedom to pray to God, to read His Word, and to speak of Him to others. I have the freedom to say what I want, when I want, and how I want. I have the freedom to browse the internet on anything of my choosing. I am free to bear arms, and to go hunting. I am free to choose to be whatever I want to be. Nurse, lawyer, doctor, preacher, trash man, accountant, full-time mom, etc. I'm not told by anyone what I have to be. I can choose any of them. =) Freedom is precious. May we hold onto them and cherish every single one of them everyday. Also, may we never foget that...

Thankful #6
Mud boots
Whoever thought of these was an ingenious person. You slip them on and your good to go. Don't know what I would do without my pair. =D
Thankful #1-5....Because I'm Late.
Thankful #1
For a heavenly Father that never gave up on me even when I hurled curses at Him and told Him that I hated Him. I'm so thankful that He gave me a second chance at life, by leading me to the foot of the cross. There I saw how I could be truly free from depression, suicidal thoughts, and hatred. FREE! I never knew what freedom felt like until I took the free gift of Salvation that Christ offered me. Ever since that day, my life has never been the same. My burdan was lifted, I could forgive, He gave me joy that overflows, a love for life and people. No life is not easy, I've hit a lot of bumps, but this time I am not alone because He is always walking with me. I can never be overly thankful for what Christ did for me.
Thankful #2
My family! Life would not be the same without all of them. This picture is missing two other brothers. =(
Thankful #3
My Nephews! I'm so blessed to be an Aunt. I love these little guys!
Thankful #4

God's Beautiful Creation
A 1950 comeback of....
Poodle Skirts!
My job holds monthly madatory inservice meetings, and this year they held it on Halloween with the theme of 1950. At first my friend Maria and I were desperatly searching the internet on ideas for outfits. Then I saw my grand idea on Pinterest, a Poodle Skirt! I looked at Maria and with laughter in my voice I declared, "I'll make us poodle skirts." So, with mounting excitment I went to town on Thursday to buy all the materials that I needed. This was six days before the inservice, I figured that a poodle skirt could not be that hard, right? =)
I used an old pattern that my mom had. But, it did not have any instructions on how to put the skirt together. So I had to use another skirt patterns instructions which thankfully worked perfectly.
I used the pattern on the left, and used the instructions of the pattern on the right.
Maria wanted a gray poodle skirt, and I decided on black.
On Saturday I started my skirt first to see if there would be any changes that I would need to make. The skirt went together nicely and then I came to the design. I had bought an iron-on-poodle and silver, rope trim. But I had not realized that in order to attach the trim you needed fabric glue. I felt like I was in a big pickle, the only other way to attach the trim was to sew it on. My heart fell. All I wanted to do was tack on the "leash" trim in the swirls and curves that are the signiture touch of a poodle skirt. But, I rolled up my sleeves, thanked God for an opportunity to work on my handsewing skills, turned on some music, pinned the trim on in format that I wanted, and then I began to sew.
This is the trim
After I had the trim stitched on I figured that rest should be easy since the poodle just ironed on. But no. Alas, as I tried so valiantly to iron that dog on it would not stick! The dreaded was becoming reality, I would now have to tack the poodle on as well. So on Saturday night, five days before the meeting, I took a needle and a thimble and tacked on that crazy dog. On Monday I finished putting in the waist band. Skirt one was done and I had two days before the meeting but really only one day to complete the skirt and make sure that it fit Maria.
The Poodle I tacked on.
Completed Skirt Details
With all my lessons learned from my skirt I was able to put Maria's skirt together like a ninja on Monday afternoon/night. I altered that skirt, sewed on the trim and tacked on the poodle.Tuesday morning they both were completed and I declared them to be dance proof. The trim nor the poodle were going to fall off! =) I was so happy with the outcome of the skirts. The only thing I forgot when I wore the skirt was the belt that I had bought. Oh well. *sigh* Have an amazing day ya'll!
